Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the ClassPing mobile app ("the app"), built and maintained by Ayesha Iftikhar ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Unofficial App

ClassPing is not an official application of the University of Management and Technology (UMT). It is built and managed independently by a UMT student and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or supported by UMT. "UMT" and related names belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe what the app is for.

2. What the App Does

The app shows a class timetable, lets you select the class sections you attend, and schedules reminders on your phone before your classes. It comes with a bundled timetable and lets you import a new one from an Excel (.xlsx) file. The app is free to use.

3. Always Check Official Announcements

The timetable in the app may be incomplete, out of date or contain mistakes. Classes can be rescheduled, moved or cancelled at any time. Always confirm class dates, times and rooms with official UMT announcements. You are responsible for attending your classes. We are not responsible for missed or late attendance, or for any academic consequences, caused by information in the app.

4. Reminders

Reminders are scheduled through your phone's notification system, so they depend on your device. They may be late or may not appear if:

• notifications are turned off for the app;
• battery saver or similar settings delay or block them;
• your phone's date, time or time zone is wrong; or
• you have not opened the app in a while. The app keeps a limited number of upcoming reminders and refreshes them when you open it or change your settings.

Do not rely on the app as your only reminder for important classes or exams.

5. Imported Timetables

If you import a timetable file, you are responsible for its contents and for having the right to use it. Importing replaces the current timetable and cancels your existing reminders. The file is processed only on your phone.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the app for anything unlawful;
• present the app, or anything made from it, as an official UMT product; or
• copy, modify or redistribute the app except as allowed by law or by the open-source licences listed in the app.

7. Your Privacy

The app stores your data only on your phone and does not collect any personal information. See the ClassPing Privacy Policy for details.

8. Intellectual Property

The app's design, code and branding belong to Ayesha Iftikhar. Third-party open-source components are used under their own licences, which you can view from the app's About screen.

9. No Warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app or its timetable will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including missed classes, lost marks or lost data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.

11. Changes and Availability

We may update, change or stop offering the app at any time. We may also update these Terms; the "Last updated" date above shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan.
