Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the ClassPing mobile app ("the app") handles your information. The app is built and maintained by Ayesha Iftikhar, a student at the University of Management and Technology (UMT). It is an unofficial app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by UMT.

Information Stored on Your Device

To work, the app saves the following on your phone only:

• The class sections you select and your program (MS or PhD).
• Your reminder settings, such as how long before class to remind you.
• A timetable you import from an Excel (.xlsx) file, if you choose to import one. This replaces the timetable bundled with the app.
• The reminders scheduled with your phone's notification system.

This information is never sent to us or to anyone else. The app has no user accounts, no sign-in and no server of its own.

Information We Do Not Collect

• No name, email address, phone number or student ID.
• No location data.
• No contacts, photos or other files, apart from a timetable file you pick yourself.
• No analytics, advertising identifiers or tracking.
• No crash reports or usage statistics.

The app contains no ads and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Permissions

• Notifications: used only to show the class reminders you set. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in your phone's settings.
• Run at startup (Android): lets the app restore your scheduled reminders after your phone restarts.
• File access: when you import a timetable, your phone's file picker lets you choose one file. The app reads only that file, and only on your phone.

The app reads your phone's time zone so that reminders go off at the correct local time. This setting stays on your device.

Links to Other Websites

The app's About screen links to this website and to these legal pages. Those links open in your web browser, and your browser's and the website's own privacy policies apply there. The website's policy is at aishayy.com/privacy.

Deleting Your Data

Because your data is stored only on your phone, you are in full control of it. You can deselect classes and turn off reminders in the app, clear the app's data in your phone's settings, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes everything the app has stored. We have no copy to delete.

Children's Privacy

The app is made for university students and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Security

Your information is protected by your phone's own security, such as its screen lock and app sandboxing. Because nothing is sent over the internet, there is no data in transit or on a server to protect.

Changes to This Policy

If the app changes in a way that affects your privacy, this policy will be updated on this page and the "Last updated" date above will change. If a future version starts collecting any data, this policy will say so before that version is released.
